Dr Bal Nandra is a highly respected Specialist Orthodontist based in Harley Street (London), Surrey, and Fulham. She is renowned for her expertise in complex Invisalign cases, dentofacial orthopaedics, cosmetic smile makeovers and paediatric growth modification. Dr Bal is proficient in all orthodontic systems and has particular expertise in Lingual Braces, Damon Braces, and fixed ceramic braces.With a modern and meticulous eye for detail, Dr Bal uniquely blends the management of facial proportions and dental structures to optimise facial harmony and smile aesthetics.
She obtained her primary dental qualifications from the University of Birmingham, graduating in 2015. Following this, she joined the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery teams in Liverpool, Birmingham, and Cardiff, during which she gained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Bal then undertook specialist orthodontic training at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London and the Western Sussex Hospital Trust in Chichester. During her training, she completed a Master of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Orthodontics and gained Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, allowing her to register as a Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council.
Dr Bal is particularly passionate about the management of paediatric malocclusion and provides early “interceptive” orthodontic treatment for children aged 7 to 10. She advocates for early orthodontic intervention when clinically appropriate, believing that timely treatment is key to achieving the best long-term outcomes. She also utilises aligner therapy for children and teenagers, offering a comfortable and discreet alternative to traditional brackets and wires; helping young patients gain confidence in their smiles. In addition, Dr Bal has specialist expertise in restorative, implant-based dentistry, achieving outstanding results for her patients.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr Bal regularly attends national and international orthodontic congresses. She is an active member of the European Orthodontic Society, the British Lingual Orthodontic Society, and the American Association of Orthodontists. She is also the founder of The Orthodontic Study Club (OSC) on Harley Street, which supports ongoing learning and mentorship for newly qualified orthodontists.
Dr Bal has published scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented research at international conferences in Australia, the USA, and Europe, and has received multiple awards for her contributions to the field of dentistry.
Outside of her professional life, Dr Bal is a mother to her son, Beau. She enjoys gardening, staying fit, and horse riding.
